5月22日是国际生物多样性日，中国科学院生物多样性委员会发布《中国生物物种名录2026版》，供全球用户自由下载使用。
2026版名录共收录物种及种下单元168871个，包括155266个物种及13605个种下单元，较2025版新增6154个物种及种下单元。其中，动物界新增3380个物种和477个种下单元；植物界新增431个物种，减少2个种下单元；真菌界新增3114个物种，减少1246个种下单元。
2026版名录首次收录轮虫动物门（双巢纲、单巢纲）476种和节肢动物门弹尾纲734种；在昆虫纲下，新增蚤目10个科、膜翅目姬小蜂科、半翅目叶蝉科和鞘翅目拟步甲科等类群总计超过2000种；在脊索动物门方面，两栖纲新增48种，总数达到767种，爬行纲新增40种，总数达到731种；真菌方面，进行分类系统调整与更新，进一步扩大收录范围，新增超过1800个种及种下单元。

2026版名录由中国科学院动物研究所牵头，联合中国科学院植物研究所、中国科学院微生物研究所、中国科学院海洋研究所、中国科学院成都生物研究所和中国科学院昆明动物研究所等多家单位共同完成。项目得到中国科学院战略生物资源计划和国家基础学科公共科学数据中心的支持。
中国是唯一一个每年都发布生物物种名录的国家，名录总下载量超过24TB，在线物种页面访问量超过2700万次，被国内外期刊论文、专著引用超过1500次。（记者胡喆）
